The frequency meter consists of a cylindershaped cavity resonator. In the case of resonance a small portion of the microwave power (approx. 2 dB) is absorbed. This power drop can be observed as a "dip" on a connected power meter. This component can also be used in FM experiments as a frequency discriminator for the conversion of FM into AM.
Design:
Cylinder-shaped, aluminium cavity resonator, with LD quick-release connectors. Its cylinder can be displaced using a micrometer screw. The resonator is coupled with an X-band waveguide with a bore hole. The frequency reading is carried out via a scale on the resonator housing. The base section is equipped with an insert nut for the mounting of a support.
