Brushless hollow-shaft resolver for detecting the angular position of a shaft. The resolver serves as a detector for the sine commutation of a permanently excited brushless DC motor as well as for recording the speed and perform positioning in AC servo drives. In order to set the shaft position of the resolver in a definite position with respect to the AC servo motor, the resolver stator can be mechanically adjusted by ±45 degrees. The resolver is fed with a sinusoidal signal and supplies two signals of equal frequency, but different amplitudes to the output. The amplitudes are dependent on the angular position of the shaft. With one revolution of the shaft, the envelope curves of the amplitudes produce one sine signal and one cosine signal of 360° electrical each. From these signals the evaluating electronics in the Converter Controller CASSY (7735290) determines the absolute position of the shaft.
