Fuzzy Control
System
The experiments are set up with experiment plates in profile frames. The controlled system or control circuit are activated with the Profi-CASSY and the relevant measurement values recorded.
Educational objectives
- Get familiar with the basic principles of controllers
- Setpoint and disturbance control
- Handle analysis and simulation software
Function
Fuzzy logic is a technology for controlling and regulating technical systems without mathematical modelling. With fuzzy logic, control strategies are simply defined with colloquial elements. To formulate the control-related problems in the form of linguistic (= language) rules, physical input variables (e.g. Temperature) are fuzzified, meaning converted from a crisp to a fuzzy value using a membership function. After fuzzification, variables are processed in accordance with linguistic rules. At the output of the fuzzy module, however, crisp - scalar - output variables must be provided again. This makes a final defuzzification necessary. In this training program, the fuzzy controllers are designed with the FLOP module from the WinFACT LD- licence (734 491) software packet.
The equipment set incorporates student experiments which can be carried out in a laboratory safely using safety extra-low voltage. Experiment instructions are contained in a manual in either printed or digital form.
Target Groups
Students completing vocational training in electrical engineering for the industry and students of automation engineering and mechatronics are the target group. The course offers introductory experiments that are very simple and also addresses difficult topics for bachelor-level studies.
