AS-Interface
System
The student investigates the connection of sensors and actuators with the AS-i interface in the SPC. This requires a process field bus-capable SPC, which is not included in the setup.
Educational objectives
- Operate the SPC
- Connect the devices with the TIA portal
- Creating programs.
- Connection of AS interface devices.
- Testing the programs.
Function
With the actuator sensor interface (AS-i), all you need is an unshielded two-wire cable to connect all sensors and actuators with the controller. The system is clearly organised and easy to install thanks to the cut-clamp technique. The teaching packet consists of:
- DP/AS-i communication assembly
- AS-i connection module 2E/2A
- Process field bus cable
- Button and indicator lamp
Methods
School experiments according to tasks in the experiment handbook.
Target Group
Students completing vocational training in electrical engineering for a trade or industry are the target group addressed. The course is geared toward intermediate learners. So prior knowledge is recommended:
- Basics of contactor controls
- Programming of SPC
- Instruction in the dangers of electrical technology
Topics
- Programming of an SPC
- Connection of AS–i components
- Programming methods LAD, SFC, STL, S7-GRAPH
